ANNUAL PICNIC
DUKE CITY &
CRAZY 8s

Nine years ago, Bob Brisco from Crazy 8s got word out that they were going to have a picnic.  CeCe Pounds was also talking about a Duke City Singles picnic. Those two began a nine-year tradition of the two clubs having an annual picnic together every summer, and it has worked out VERY successfully ever since!  This year, as always, Joey Solis reigned as "CHEF of the grill!"  He has a system of getting all the burgers and hot dogs grilled up to feed the masses of square dancers who arrive hungry and ready for some serious picnic eating!!  This year was no exception as we all ate and visited under the trees of the grassy Vineyard Community "park." The weather was perfect: the temperature was in the 80s, and the sky was cloudy, so we didn't have the hot sun beating down on us, keeping us all super comfortable!  It was the best of the best!

We are all looking forward to next year's picnic.
Hopefully, we will have lost any extra pounds this year's picnic gave us!

 ___
On July 24, Duke City celebrated its 28th birthday with a free dance for all who came.  There was a beautiful cake (with no calories, of course), and lots of dancing and remembering of all the great times our club members have had together thur the years!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
