DANCING AT THE STATE FAIR
This year square dancers are again making an appearance in the Arts & Craft Building at the NM State Fair in September. Dancing demonstrations will be seen from 1 - 3 PM on Sunday, Sept. 13 and Sunday, Sept 20. Volunteers are needed to dance. Come in square dance attire OR jeans and boots! That way, people interested in learning square dancing can see it's OK to dance in ordinary clothes, too!

New Mexico Square and Round Dance Association (NMSRDA) membership dues for 2010 are coming up in May. Your NMSRDA membership includes the monthly 'Southwest Dancer Magazine,' FOUR FREE Association Dances in 2010, and a $5.00 discount for the State Festival each year.
Dues are $20.00 per couple or $18.00 per single - membership is from May to May. To join, send your check (made out to NMSRDA) to Tom & Jackie Pickering, 956 San Augustin Drive, Las Cruces, NM 88012.

Tom and Marlene Kelly
Tom and Marlene joined Mountain Mixers about 1994. When the formal need for officers ended, the Kellys have been "de-facto" officers ever since. Tom has been the perpetual treasurer and even storage geru for the club! They have served as Northeast District president, State vice-president and State president! Since their retirement, they have attended many national square dance conventions, and always support the N.M. state festivals. They always say "yes" whenever a volunteer is needed! They are truly great folks in our square dance community!
